Hans5849
I am using TwinX XMS 3200LLPT RAM (stock voltage/clock), in a Abit IC7-G, with a P4 2.6C and when i ran memtest 86 and it gave me errors located at mostly 800-980MB and 300-500MB. I am thinking this means that both the sticks of RAM that i have have errors on it. I have formatted about 3-4 times and i get either corrupted installs or errors while running setup in XP. If there is anything else that i should check before requesting a RMA, please tell me.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 24, 2005 Can you tell me bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
Hans5849
The SATA mode is set to Enhanced, and really that is the only setting that is modified to make it work properly except the boot order. I ran memtest a few months ago and it came up perfectly clean, just now its b0rked.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 25, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. And I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure.
