Did I Kill My CPU?

Recommended Posts

So, I turned my PC on two times to make sure that everything works properly and that I plugged everything in right. I did this on December 23rd and I have a Ryzen 5 5600x CPU, it did not have a cooler on it. Only did it two times, I have decent anxiety about it. Any answers and help would be greatly appreciated, this is my first PC. I haven't done anything further since then, besides for preparing the case for the AIO I am buying this weekend. Nothing looks wrong with the CPU, I didn't want to take it out to mess with it.

Just put the cooler on the CPU and you're done. The mainboards switch off as soon as the CPU reaches a temperature to protect the CPU

as muvo said, motherboards turn off before damaging the cpu.

yea, just.. don't do it. you don't do something very wrong to check if anything is wrong 🙂

It will overheat instantly without a cooler and shutdown.
