Bblue45
I want to replace my sp120s in my 570x with the LL120s, would it be safe to do this process of actually replacing the fans if my PC is on a desk and I am stood on carpet? If I unplugged all peripherals/ cables from the back of my case too and grounded myself by touching the pc? Please help
c-attack
You are extremely unlikely to damage any PC components through static electricity transfer while changing the fans. You'll be working with the chassis frame and that is going to take any charge you are carrying. It's not the same as working with the RAM or CPU. I don't think any special precautions are required for this, but if you want to wear a grounding strap you can. The plastic fans and controller are not at risk.
