Can i return a different version working module?

Recommended Posts

i have 2 512mb CMX512-3200c2 modules and i purchased each one different times. cuz of this, i have 2 different versions and i cant runned them at dual channel mode..when i try it gives me a MB error of INCORRECT OVERCLOCK so now there operating non dual...i was wondering if u guys can swap me one of the modules so i can have 2 matching version modules for no cost????? i would like to run my memory at full potential and experiance better pc performance

ram guy, ive recieved ur email of trying to fix this problem so i can have 2 working separate cmx 3200 512mb c2 in dual channel mode dispite different version rams and u told me to do this

Dram clock - 200 mhz

sdram cas latency 2.5

sdram trcd - 3

sdram trp- 3

sdram tras - 7

ive did that after placing both moduals in the blue slots dimms for dual channel mode and it posted and eveything but now it reads 512mb instead of 1 gb

Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

Please put the memory modules on either slots 1&3 or 2&4 and make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB; load optimized/set up default, and set the following BIOS settings;

CMX512 or CMX1024-3200C2

Advanced CPU/Memory Configuration:

Memclock Mode: Limit

Memclock Value: 2:1 (DDR400)

Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled

Burst Length: 8

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 7T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

2T Command Rate: Enabled

Hypertransport: 5X

Jumper Free/Frequency Voltage Control:

AI Overclock Tuner: Manual

CPU FSB Clock: 200

CPU Multiplier: Auto

CPU Voltage: Auto

DDR Voltage: 2.8 Volts

AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!*

All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let's make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!

i just did all that...and still im getting 512mb when i have both moduals on dimms 1 and 3 (which are the blue ones) and putting it on dimms 2 and 4 is useless b/c that wont enable dual channel..according tot he MB manual.

damn!! i wish i saw 1gb after doing this..meaning its on dual channel wohoo!! but nope...

ram guy is it time to wave the white flag for RMA or u still got more juice for opinions?

PS - well i just tired slots 2 and 4 for the hell of it see if i get suttin..but nada..it still says 512mb!!

Q: What happens if I return a part under this warranty?

A: The part you return will be tested upon receipt at Corsair. If the part is a good part according to Corsair's test, it may be shipped back to you, or it may be replaced with an equivalent part. If the part fails Corsair's test, it will be replaced by an equivalent (or better) part that passes the test.

both my cmx512-3200c2 modules are working fine...but are u guys still able to give me 2 identical modules so the revisions are the same for dual channal?

As soon as we received the modules from you; your replacement part will be shipped after a day or so maybe even the same day, and it will be shipped via 3 days either Fed Ex or UPS.
