Bad memory?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I purchased the Corsair Value Select - DDR 1GB 3200 ( 2 * 512 MB) last September. My computer did not boot up successfully.

I tried to install Windows XP Professional again, however; I received the blue screen and I could not install Windows successfully.

I identified that one of the memory was bad:

Step 1: Take out two memory from slots.

Step 2: Insert only one memory into slot 1.

Step 3: Install Windows XP Professioanl successfully.

I went to Fry's to get another one, however, they are not carry Corsair memory any more.

What should I do?

More than likely they were just out of stock.

Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

By the way can you tell me the Fry's location that told you that?

Fry's in Plano, Texas.

They said that if they have them in stock, then they can replace my bad one. However, they could not find it from their inventory and also told me that they are not carry the Corsair's memory any more. I told them I saw newspaper ads for Corsair memory about two or three weeks ago.
