Do any customer color profiles work with iCUE 4?

Recommended Posts

This is my first PC and I was very excited to customize all the RGB lighting I have however have been increasingly frustrated by the iCUE software. I saw that on Corsair's website they had a bunch of custom profiles that I would love to use, however they only work on iCUE 3. However some of my products are not supported by iCUE 3 so just downloading that and using it is not an option. I was wondering if any downloadable files actually work and if anyone has a link to them.

It's not that the Corsair website profiles do not work with CUE 4 (they do), it's that in order for a profile to work for all users it must be programmed for every possible device.  So a profile created last January will not have a saved lighting pattern for an AIO that was released in June or a new mouse that came out last week.  This means user experience with those is going to be highly device dependent.  Someone with a keyboard, mouse, and older Platinum series AIO will see everything light up.  Someone with a brand new LCD Elite H170i and K100 keyboard.  You may be able to 'fill in the gaps' by copying a lighting pattern from device to the library and then to the blank device.  Where it get tricky is if you only have 1 device like the new H170i LCD and both the pump and RGB fan controller are not programmed.

I think what I can’t figure out is the lighting worked on my keyboard, AIO and asus motherboard in icue 3. But in icue 4 it changed nothing. Do I have to do something to get it to work on those then try and mirror those to the products it didn’t work on?

That should not have happened, especially with KBs that share a common layout.  It is possible if you have a very old CUE profile from the 3.01 to 3.13 era it might have some difficulty incorporating into CUE 4.  However, I can usually get my older ones in.

Can you list your exact hardware?  KB model, AIO model, etc.

K100 keyboard, Dark Core RGB mouse, h115i platinum AIO, 4000x with those standard case fans, an extra icue ql 120 fan, x570 e mothetboard

The K100 should work for everything with the possible consequence of G-keys, and a few of the bottom row keys that are shifted compared to other Corsair boards not lighting up.  The H115i Platinum should work for all of the profiles on the Corsair site.

The SP-Elite from the case should work on most profiles because it is the same designation (8 LED series fan) as the older SP-Pro.  However, newer lighting controllers like the Commander Core and XT models may prevent that.  The QL fan should work, but again the controller has the final word.

Motherboards generally will not be part of any lighting profile.

Did you try any of those from the site I sent you?
