kzibert
I have an Asus A8N SLI motherboard and two sticks corsair's Value Select DDR 400 memory. This is a brand new system with Athalon chip and an MSI X850 XT PCI-E graphics card. When I go to install windows I get the Stop Message Ox7F. The stop message is as follows: "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent further damage to your computer. if this is the first time you have seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If the screen appears again, follow these steps. run system diagnostic utility supplied by your hardware manufacture. in particular run a memory check, and check for faulty or mismatched memory.try changing video adaptors. Disable or remove any newly installed software.if you must use safemode to remove or disable components, restart press f8 to select advanced start-up options and select safe mode. Technical information STOP 0x0000000 7F, (0x0000000D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 beginning dump of physical memory physical dump complete contact system administrator or technical support for assistance" Is there any known compatability issues with my RAM and my Motherboard or is it more likely my graphics card? Thanks for the help.
Garvin
First page of the following link is the most important for this board: http://hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/38623/ Also on some peoples boards you need to install Xp with only one stick of ram then add the second stick after Xp, chipsett drivers, video drivers, and DirectX are loaded in that order. If you still have problems post back. Good Luck.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 23, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 23, 2005 That stop error would suggest a driver problem and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not fialing. kzibert
Well unforunately I couldn't get any of that to work, but I called Asus and they're RMAing my motherboard. Hopefully this new one will work, I'll post again if I have further trouble with that one. Thanks.
leeghoofd
I would manually set the ram , is the SPD read out correctly ? also what PSU are you using to power this rig ? How many amps does it have on the 12 volt rail, too bad you didn't opt for Corsair XMS ram would have been a way better choice for your gear
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 24, 2005 If that does not solve the problem, I would as leeghoofd suggested take look at the PSU to be sure it's compatible and if its not the PSU I would see if a friend can help you test the modules in another system and if they pass then I would maybe try and RMA the CPU. Yeah, XMS would have been nice but I tried to stay within something of a budget.
ferry_g
Antec Smart Power 500 Watt. Yeah, XMS would have been nice but I tried to stay within something of a budget. There's a bug with this mb bios. When you are in BIOS setting, make sure you press F5 before make any modification to other settings. Then you can go tune your bios, save & exit, done! This applied to bios 1008-1010-1. If errors stil existed, then test the memories one at a time using memtest. And test the vga in other system.
