Linition
I know they are not the best fans out there, IMO that's because of the blade design. However, I really hate moving parts and the mag lev at least removes the worst side of moving parts, which is friction. But do any of the PSUs come with one? LeDoyen
nop 🙂 From what Jonnyguru said some time ago when a similar question popped up, the PSU fans are completely different, they are made to be way sturdier. When you think about it, a 10 years warranty kind of put case fans out. They are never as reliable as that. Check this topic on the PSU with RGB fan, he explained a few things you may find interesting

LeDoyen
one point that kind of makes all this useless is headroom 🙂 If you can get your hands on a PSU that is both efficient and has more power than you need, with some margin, the fan will in fact never turn on = problem solved. It's hard to predict though. depends on the case, the PSU mounting orientation (fan up is better to let the heat rise away from the PCBs), etc... for example, in the 2 years that i used the HX1200i, the fan never turned on besides during power on test. I just don't want any mechanical parts rubbing together, it's so backwards to me and makes me paranoid, and for the same reason I could never use a HDD again either. SpinningFan
@jonnyguru Why did you put a MagLev bearing fan in the latest RMx (2021) but not in the new HXi refresh?

SpinningFan
@jonnyguru Unexpected answer, but thanks! 🙂 So RMx (2021) is still the only PSU with a MagLev fan? Source: ML_SERIES_advertorial.pdf Does this magnetic levitation diagram also apply to the NR140ML? Looks like Sunon DR MagLev S&C Design. Andru123
I want to add that this series RMx (2021) is the most efficient ATX power supplies in the world for the low power systems (up to 40W). They are almost as efficient as picoPSU. We recommend them as best PSU at dutch forums ( https://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/2096876/0#voeding )
