H100 RGB Control via Commander Pro

Recommended Posts

Hello there, this is my first post on forum 😀

I plan on getting the H100 in the picture attached however I have a slight concern regarding the RGB control. I watched the installation video and I saw that a 5v 3 Pin ARGB header is required. My motherboard ( ASUS B350-F Strix ) sadly does not have that, only 4 pin headers.

I was thinking of buying myself the Commander Pro and plugging that 3 Pin Header from the H100 into one of the 2 RGB ports on it. I would just like some clarification if this would work? I can't seem to find a solid answer online.

Thanks

In this case it would make more sense to buy the H100i Elite that comes with a Commander Core for speed/RGB control and does not require a motherboard RGB header. In order to make the regular “H100” RGB work you would need to get a 3rd party cable adapter to connect the mb style 3 pin into a Corsair style 3 pin for the Commander Pro and effects will not be designed for the pump. “29 LEDs” is an odd number. You would need to do it as RGB strip x 3. (10x3 LEDs). Total cost on C-Pro plus adapter would surely be more than the H100i Elite.

That's a good point, thank you very much. I'll definitely look into the H100i Elite.
