Peirlon
I have a K57 keyboard and a dark core pro mouse. I'm trying to assign the extra buttons and keys I have to specific functions in Halo Infinite, but the game doesn't seem to recognize them since trying to bind the keys/buttons do nothing. Is there something I need to do in iCUE first?
c-attack
Do you mean the G keys on the left? They don't have a native value in the registry so neither the OS or game recognize those keys. You need to use substitute binding to make them do what you need. So if "Y" is 'open map' and you want that to be G5, then you remap Y to G5 in CUE. Now both Y and G5 perform that game specific function. However, be aware this is universal to the profile. So if you really only use 1-2 profiles, G5 will be "Y" all the time. If you use a profile created just for Halo and bind it to the .exe, then G5=Y needs to be in that profile only. If you have a game with a lot of odd commands or that needs a lot of remapping, there is an incentive to create a game profile just for it. Peirlon
So the G keys and extra mouse buttons can't just be their own thing to free up the other keys and buttons for other purposes in game? If that's so, that's rather disappointing.
c-attack
There would need to be a universally accepted value for it and acknowledged by the governing organization(s). A keyboard makers can't stick some random key they created on the end of the keyboard and it automatically is incorporated into the programming of all software in existence. This will be true for any non-standard key from any board. The G Keys on Corsair boards are capable of serving a number of functions aside from A->B remaps. Peirlon
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Rather a shame I didn't understand that before upgrading my keyboard and mouse. Live and learn I guess.
c-attack
You may still find a use. There are more complex actions within CUE that can be saved to those or if nothing else you can remap hard to reach keys for gaming over there. It’s usually easy to put a pinky on G6 than to find ; or something similar with the mouse hand.
