K100 RGB zone with no lights ?

I am not sure this has ever been officially explained, but I'll throw out my theory.  Earlier K95 Plat/XT keyboards have this area.  It was not always smooth in lighting transitions and the three panel logo was also part of the light bar.  On the K100 the two adjacent zones do have a subtle effect on the center logo.  If you set the center to white and then create separate red-left and blue-right lighting effects, you should see a subtle highlight tint on each side.  This allows better color shifting on fast moving patterns or more subtle accenting around the logo.  Or maybe they simply had a lot of three panel lighting sections left over from previous models.  Either way, you should include the left/right sections in the center logo lighting pattern you want.  It does contribute to the overall brightness and hue.

No theory needed, just test it and you will notice they are actually zones WITHIN the logo.

Yeah, I think we have that part covered with clear three zone picture above and the three LED zones in CUE.  The question was why it was three and not a single zone for the sails logo.

It was either not added or maybe it is saved for a different, newer future version release. I would love to have one wireless with a Nexus built into it. since there is so much space at the top wasted to begin with. A screen would fill that up very nicely with a type C connection. And please add some sound dampening pads inside the next one. Looking at you Corsair.

To answer her question, the picture is just misleading and the unit is not defect.
As for the why, I agree with your previous text, for a nicer RGB experience with the logo.

They actually do work for me. Just not like you would expect it to do. There are 3 usable zones there. The left and right zones are not as thorough as you expect would be a better word. But you can clearly see them work by adding colors to the left and right side. Making the logo change colors slightly or more advanced colors.
