Help! only one twinx1024-3200xlpt will work on dfi lp ut nf4 sli-dr

Can someone please help a person is bios challenged? I have two questions.

PROBLEM:

only one stick of corsair xms (2 x 512) twinx1024-3200xlpt will work on my dfi lp ut nf4 sli-dr motherboard.

BACKGROUND:

I am decent with pc's and built this from ground up (see specs).

everything is up and stable on 1 stick. windows xp running stable etc...

I have flashed to the latest bios 310 from my Mobo Manufacturer.

My ram is not listed on the dfi-street "official list" but angry_games said there is not guarantee anything will work without tweaking.

Other users on the dfi-street forums seem to think that I can tweak this to work.

I searched these boards and saw a user with the same exact problem as me and he RMA'd his ram to new egg and never wrote back. He had said the board was timing his tRCD @ 3 instead of 2.

All my settings are on auto

I did notice on the first blackscreen on startup that my second number was 3 @ 1t.

I'm not really that familiar with all this to know exactly where to look and what is what.

I also noticed in bios that my voltage was at 2.65

Question #1:

I am bios challenged and am not familiar with high-end oc stuff like voltages and timings on ram, Should I really be in there changing settings in bios to make this ram work or should I just RMA it and pick up somehting that can plug and play. If i go in and mess with it, even by looking at suggested screenshots, is there a chance I will blow my ram, cpu or motherboard out?

Question #2:

If I CAN work with it, can someone recommend (and I will need screenshots) some bios settings to use and give me idiot proof instructions?

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

If you need help with the bios settings I would either call the MB maker or call our Tech support at 888-222-4346 and choose option "2" when you are in front of your system. But the minimum suggested voltage would be 2.75 Volts with these modules so I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts and you should be good to go. You can also try the DFI user forum as there are many users that have this MB and can probably help you with that!

Thanks! I have been living over at my MOBO manufacturer site and they recommended I come here.

One more question, Is my particular ram Hynix? How can I tell. I was told that if it was it wouldn't work.

You can use these settings for reference:

Dim Voltage to +2.8 Volts:

CAS Latency CL=2.0

Row Cycle Time tRC Bios Default

Row Refresh Cyc Time tRFC Bios Default

Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 2

Row to Row delay Bios Default

Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 5 (But with this at 10-11 may perform better)

Row Precharge Time tRP 2

Write Recovery Time Bios Default

Write to Read delay Bios Default

Read to Write Delay Bios Default

Refresh Period tREF Bios Default

Enable 2T Timing Disabled

Then test the system with http://www.memtest.org and make sure it's stable! If you have problems, I would set Enable 2T Timings to AUTO and test it again!
