JoeH
I just built the following system: ASUS A7V600-X MB AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton 333MHz FSB VS1GBKIT400 (2 x 512MB) RADEON 9800 Pro I have not really had too many problems as of yet, I wrote most of them off to new system trial and error. But when I started receiving errors while trying to install a game (World of Warcraft) repeatedly is when I Started to dig deeper. I started running memtest from bootable cd (legacy usb disabled) and immediately received nothing but errors. I moved both sticks around a tested and retested with same results (over 200 errors in the first 20 seconds). I removed both sticks and put in a XXXXXXXXX stick (512MB 333mhz) in slot 1 and it ran memtest fine. I put 1 VS512MB400 stick in and dropped the memory speed down to 333 thinking this may have been the problem and no errors. I upped the speed to 400 and that ran fine too. On the other hand, I swapped out the sticks, same slot and settings and went right back to immediate errors running memtest. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 19, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 19, 2005 With that CPU you will need to run the memory in sync with your CPU. But it sounds like you may have one module failing so please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
