alter
Hi This watercooling (which I have) will it be compatible with the i9 12900k alder lake! I ask because Igor lab's detected a compatibility problem with the H115,the radiator would not press enough on the processor creating a bad cooling of the alder lake processor! Thanks for any answers... an official answer from Corsair would be welcome too 😉
Administrators Technobeard Posted October 28, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 28, 2021 Not out of the box, but there's an adapter available for it: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/company/press-release/keeping-your-cpu-cooler-on-the-cutting-edge-corsair-all-in-one-coolers-are-ready-for-lga-1700-and-intel-alder-lake-processors Do you have a link to the article / video from Igor's Lab that you're referring to? Where and how to find the soket 1700 adapter for it?(a link) I think that corsair should express quickly to know which are or not the aio really on for alder lake! Citizen Crazed
Corsair have already given an official answer @alter, the H115i RGB Platinum is on the official compatibility list as long as the new stand-offs are used. I don't have a link handy but it's probably on the forum somewhere. Note that you *do* need the LGA1700-compatible stand-offs. The reason why those articles you are quoting noted insufficient contact between the block and the CPU is because the new CPU/socket z-height is lower (the IHS is thinner and so is the socket itself). The new stand-offs are shorter to account for the difference - and maintain the correct pressure between the cooler and CPU.
Citizen Crazed
Also further to the above, I can't remember for certain, and my own H115i Plat is installed at the moment so can't easily look, but I recall the slots on the pump mounting brackets - as well as the captive nuts on the underside mounting plate, are slotted. If so it's likely they will fully support attachment to a board with the new 78 x 78mm HS mounting centres too - which the cooler's presence on the compatibility list further suggests is likely.
