Far Horizon
Hi everyone, Please can you tell me if the TX-M Series™ TX550M — 550 Watt 80 Plus® Gold Certified PSU (UK) is compatible with a Dell 7020 motherboard (i7-4770 CPU) that has the 8 pin connector for the board's power input? Do I need to buy an ATX to 8 pin converter or can I use the EPS/ATX12V lead? Also, which lead do I use to plug into the PCU Fan socket on the board? I'm confused, Thanks in advance, FH
Administrators Technobeard Posted October 25, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 25, 2021 Which Dell 7020 do you have? Look up the service tag on https://support.dell.com and it'll give you more info on compatibility.
Far Horizon
Hi, thanks for your reply. I ran Dell's Support Assist but it wasn't any help - only telling me my service tag, installed RAM, CPU type and OS. My system is a Dell Optiplex 7020 Mini Tower. The motherboard is like the one in the attached clip from the PDF manual for this system. If you need any other info, please let me know. Thanks. Administrators Technobeard Posted October 26, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 26, 2021 That 8-pin power connector is proprietary to Dell and wouldn't be on any of our PSUs.
