TechFlame
I have installed two different corsair power supplies RM series. RM650 and RM 750 ATX power supplies into my PC and hear this noise at random. I was wondering if it is coil whine or the PSU crackling under load or something else? Any ideas? HardcoreGames
Sounds like fan noise to me, crackling suggests some parts warming up for the first time and thermal expansion cycles will quiet down over time. I have a RM650 and it has been good in my shop. The RM750 does have more current for modern video cards which are using more power than ever. TechFlame
Thank you for the reply and sorry for my late response, I see what you are saying. The noise produced does not happen all the time, I reinstalled my PSU a week ago repositioned it inside the case and the sound has seemed to stop for now. However if the issue happens again would you recommend changing the fan inside the PSU or the cables? or is there any other possible solutions?
