jim946
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with 256 RAM. I want to add 512 to the system. The packing slip says I have DDR2 RAM in there now. Is that the 533 speed RAM? What module do I need and can I put a 512 with a 256 or do I have to purchase another 256 to max out at 512? Also, where should I buy the RAM? Thanks

gumby_ng
I was able to find these on sale, they are your 667 version of the ones recommended by the configurator. VS1GSDS667D2 Will these also be compatible with the Inspiron 6000. I will be running them at 400 with a Pentium 1.6. Thanks. Silvesta

gumby_ng
Sorry but I wasn't clear in my original message. The configuration says the VS1GSDS533D2 is good but the ones for sale are the VS1GSDS667D2. Would the extra clock speed lead to compatibility issues? I know that 667 can be run at anything lower than that but I'm just not sure if there are other factors? Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 30, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 30, 2007 Yes chances are if this is an OEM system it will not post with faster memory. Please use what is suggested.
