BruteForce
I have 4 matched sticks of CMX512 - 3700 purchased and installed 07/2003 that appear to have all gone bad at the same time. First couple memtest86 tests involved swapping the sticks around (single, pairs, different slots etc) trying to determine which one was bad. They all came up with as bad (error counts numbering in the 10s of thousands). Thinking it was unlikely that ALL 4 would go bad at the same time, I swapped out the motherboard and tried again. Same results. Went down to the store and bought 2 sticks of similar speed and they work fine. No memtest86 errors and even better not a single blue screen since. Tried calling tech support and I keep getting the "leave a message" voice mail. Need to RMA these things. HELP! :o:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 16, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your MB and load Setup/optimized default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX1024 or TwinX512-3700 Advanced/Jumper Free AI over clocking: Manual CPU Freq: 200 DRAM Clock: 400 MHz Memory or Dim Reference voltage: 2.85 Volts System performance: standard AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* Advanced/Chipset Configure Dram timing by SPD: Disabled/User define SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T SDRAM Burst Length: 8 Performance Acceleration Mode: Auto USB Legacy Support: Disabled All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!
