formyfaith
Hello Ram guy, :D: I bought a TWINX1024-4400C25 XMS4404v1.1 a few days ago, and have been testing since then. Let me explain the problem I'm experiencing. The ram has no problem in getting into windows, but in windows, it randomly causes my computer to reboot by itself. Also, it often causes reboots when I run super pi or check memory bandwidth in Sandra. I have checked this situation with 2 more sets of the same memory borrowed from my friends and only mine causes this wierd problem. I have checked with almost every bios, tried almost every timings, voltage. But at no matter what setting, the ram causes the above situation. I am very sure that the ram is defective and therefore request a RMA. :) (If you know a way to fix this problem without a RMA, that would be great, too. :)) Thank you. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 16, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
formyfaith
Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? First of all Besides not being able to get into windows at whatever settings, I found out again that I cannot even install windows at whatever settings also. My CPU is a San Diego 3700+ @ default speed, Which is FSB 200. Mobo is DFI NF4 SLI-DR. Memory timings are 2.5-3-3-6 at DDR 400. Ofcourse guarateed speed DDR550, 2.5-4-4-8 doesn't work properly either. The product is CORSAIR 1GB TwinX 4400C25 (512MB x 2). I've virtually tried almost every settings, at 3 different PCs(my friend's) , but doesn't work. Hope an RMA will solve this situation. : )
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 17, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and the minimum suggested voltage would be 2.75 Volts, but with this MB I would set it to 2.8 Volts. formyfaith
Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and the minimum suggested voltage would be 2.75 Volts, but with this MB I would set it to 2.8 Volts. I've already done tests with memtest and Golmemory. The tests always runs fine without any errors, but while testing, before making any errors, it also makes the system randomely reboot. As I said in previous posts, I've tested with 2 other sets of the same module but there is no problem with those two on my system. So I am also definatly sure it is no power problem.
