Please Help! Asus laptop memory upgrade.

Dear Ram Guy & Co.,

I bought a new Corsair So-Dimm RAM (512 Mb, Value Select PC2700, 200 pin) to upgrade OEM 256 Mb (PC2700) memory of my new Asus laptop (mod. A4506DLH).

If I add Corsair Ram to OEM Ram the system can boot but Win Xp Home SP2 freezes, giving me a BSOD.

I tried to remove the OEM module and to use only Corsair, but with this configuration my system cannot even boot up (black screen)!

Can you help me to find out if this is a compatibility issue or a bad module to change?

I bought Corsair because I trust this brand and its compatibilty, but now I am quite in the mess......

If useful, CPU-Z report that my OEM memory run at 2.5-3-3-7 timings, but I think this is noteless because I don't think my asus laptop BIOS don't let me to cahnge timings.

Please help me.

thanks to you all, guys!

Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

thank you Ram Guy!

I'll proceed with an RMA. Do you think I have really a bad module?

I guess Corsair modules should be compatible with a big motherboard brand like ASUS! Do you know any compatibility issues with ASUS motherboards?

thanks again.

bye

I would not suggest mixing our module with the one that came with your system, and since the system will not post with just our module I would suggest we try replacing the module. And we use ASUS NB MB's to validate these modules as well as a few others. So they should be compatible.
