Corsair iCUE download causing BSOD with "critical process died" error

Hello,

When I try to download the Corsair iCUE software, it gets to the download stage and starts installing, and my screen then abruptly turns green and then blue screens with the above error message. I have tried installing previous releases of the software and fully uninstalling iCUE and all corsair files from my computer, with no luck. I suspect it might have something to do with corrupt files somewhere on my computer, but I can't figure it out.

Found a temporary solution to my problem (for anyone else who may be having the same issue). 
Downloading Corsair Link allowed me to be able to re-gain some control of the RGB on the fans, and it also has options for other Corsair products.
