paulwithhands
Hi all, I'm a total noob when it comes to PC building and just completed my first build yesterday using the Corsair 4000D case and Asus TUF Gaming 570x Plus Mobo. The issue I have is that the front audio jack on my case does not work. I noticed the case has an "HD Audio" cable, but I couldn't find a slot for it on my Mobo, so I left it unplugged. I'm guessing this is the issue, but I cannot find where the "HD Audio" cable plugs into. Does it plug in somewhere other than the Mobo? For clarity, my audio is working when I use the rear audio jacks. I downloaded the latest audio drivers for my Mobo from Asus as well. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. LeDoyen
when in doubt, look at the motherboard manual 🙂 https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/TUF_GAMING_X570-PLUS/E15235_TUF_GAMING_X570-PLUS_UM_WEB.pdf jump to page 16 of the PDF (page 1-2 of the manual) for the motherboard layout. It's the socket 16 called AAFP, audio front panel.

I’ve attached a picture of the cable and it’s corresponding label in the 4000D case manual. I think this needs to be plugged in to make the front audio jack work? LeDoyen
that's the USB3 type C connector. seems your mobo doesn't have a socket for it. but that's only connected to the USB-C socket of the case. it has nothing to do with the audio.
paulwithhands
Lol, that makes much more sense. Hmmm.. I wonder what's causing the front headphone jack not to function then. I'll keep on troubleshooting.
