teaflower
I have a bad 256-3200LL (one half of a Twinx512-3200LL set) that consistantly generates errors in Memtest-86 v3.1 running on an ASUS P4R800-VM motherboard with an intel P4 2Ghz processor frequency 2000Mhz FSB 400 MHz. BIOS is AMI BIOS 8.00.04. Memtest shows 448 MB 333Mhz Dual Channel memory at a speed of 1129 MB/sec. The errors follow the suspect module when I swap the two modules on the MB or when testing the single module alone. Hundreds of errors are generated, a typical one would be at address 6190d78 test 08080808 returned 0c080808 error bits 04000000. No errors are generated when the single good module is tested alone. I have also tested this memory on an ASUS AZN8X2.0 MB with similar results. Vendor not available, memory was brand new to me as birthday present. Please provide RMA. Will I need to return both modules, or just the suspect one?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 13, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 13, 2005 I would suggest you get them both replaced, and with this MB and these modules would would want to run the memory at DDR333 and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X Volts. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
