Recommended Posts

Hello.

After iCUE update, received an alert from Cylance. See atached screenshot.

File location: C:\Program Files\Corsair\CORSAIR iCUE 4 Software\efm8load.exe

SHA256: 2584DAB20FB7334DB9DBA5AD3DD3E3AB046FBF908A1C3623BD409B299A8FAF41

A quick search using the hash:

What is the function of this program? I just deleted it and everything is fine.

Thank you in advance.

Did some Googling and it looks like EFM probably stands for Energy-Friendly Microcontroller. So it’s probably an exe that loads firmware onto an 8-bit energy friendly microcontroller.

I reached out to the iCUE team and they confirmed it's a firmware update app.
