I purchased the HX650 originally to power my Phenom II 955BE system. Then I had a long relationship with Piledriver CPU's, and from memory the TDP on the piledriver CPU's was crazy high. This is a quick overview of it's life.

955BE - left running 24-7 for 3 years

GPU - HD5770

FX6300 - left running 24-7 for 2 years

GPU - HD5770 / 6850

FX8350 - start-stop use for 3 years

GPU - R9 285 / RX570

Ryzen 5 3600 - start stop use for 1 year.

GPU - RX580

It was a fraction over 9.5 years old when it finally started producing slow boot ups, boot loops, no boots, and eventually black screens of nothingness.

If you are considering a Corsair PSU, I would not hesitate. I have owned PSU's from "reputable" brands for my other computers, that have last 1 month, 7 months, and 15 months. I think for any electronic device to function almost non stop for 9 years, is a feat in itself.

Great quality hardware Corsair

An old box with a Phenom II 965 BE was 125W processor.

The Corsair TX850V2 was employed to run GTX 260 SLI and eventually GTX 690 SLI.

I agree that Corsair is respectable as the power is abundant while not wasting prodigious amounts of energy too

Now I have a Corsair HX1000i which is far more efficient and it can also handle SLI fine.

The RTX 3090 however might motivate the move the AX1600i only because the cards are real power pigs.
