mickd
I have the TwinX1024-3200C2 RAM in my system, it simply will NOT run dual channel at 400 (200), it is ok when clocked back to 333 (166), my RAM was exchanged but still no luck.....HOWEVER, my local PC shop loaned me some NCP PC3200 2 X 512 sticks (Hexon Tech.) and you guessed it, my PC is rock solid at 400 now at 3-4-4-8, so my question is , what is wrong with my Corsair RAM ? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 11, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 11, 2005 Please try and set the Dim Over Voltage control to +.2 Volts and you can set the same timings as the other memory and see if it will run in dual channel. But if the modules will run one at a time but not when in dual channel that would suggest a power or CPU problem.

Thanks Mate, tried just about everything you have suggested now & previously....this RAM (TWINX1024-3200C2) simply will not run dual channel on my system at any settings or in any variation of DIMM slots.....however I remember noting on another, or even this forum that the GA-K8NSNXP-939 prefers Samsung based modules such as TWINX1024-3200XL...have you heard similar comments ? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 12, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 12, 2005 If the modules will run and pass http://www.memtest.org one up then as we said before its some other problem, either a power problem or CPU problem. As long as you have a PSU that meets the MB makers requirements I would suggest you try replacing the CPU and go from there.
eas98
I have the same mobo (except with SLI) and mem chips, and I have no problem getting dual channel. I have had some strange system crashes however. I boosted the voltage to +.1, so we'll see if that works. Also, I notice the timings as 2.5-3-3-8, instead of 2.5-3-3-6. Is this something I should be concerned about? EDIT: Actually, I see that I have a different mobo.. GA-K8NXP-SLI.. But my question about the timings still applies.. Help!? :)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 13, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 13, 2005 With Giga-Byte I would suggest you let the bios set the timings, but with XMS3200C2 the timings would be need to be manually set to the tested settings and I would set the Dim Voltage to +.2 Volts as well. I have 520w psu And brand new 3500+ But no matter what we try, they dont run at the same time in dual mode at 400mhz. We tried other brands like k¡ngston, and those work. maap
What Bios version are you using? I didn't get a stable platform until the F7 Bios. The latest bios version is F9 which just came out on May 11th GA-K8NSNXP-939 F9 Bios . With the new bios the K8NSNXP-939 now supports AMD .9 cores Winchester/Venice and San Diego. I'd suggest you update you bios.
