orangechipster
Specifications: Corsair CMX512-2700C2 (XMS2700V1.1 021418) Soyo Barebones Kit with Soyo K7VME Motherboard AMD 2400XP+ CPU @ WD 80G HDD. Radeon 9000 Video Card. "Default" RAM settings. Although it started strong and rock solid, In the past month this computer has been suffering from random crashes, reboots. Occasionally I will try to power the box on and although the system appears to power, nothing is displayed. I didn't expect RAM issues, but I downloaded and excuted Microsofts memory diagnostic from oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp and low and behold the memory module failed several tests (LRAND, WMATS+). I do not have an alternate module for double-checking against, but I believe these memory test failures should point to module replacement. Can you please approve an RMA? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 10, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 10, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org if you have more than one and if you find one is failing please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that might suggest some other problem and I would try testing them in another system if you can. orangechipster
Just looking @ other replies, I checked my Bios RAM related settings. The Soyo/AMI settings are rather sparse, but the RAM related ones and their settings in my system are as follows: SDRAM Timing by SPD ENABLED SDRAM CAS# LATENCY 2.5 SDRAM BANK INTERLEAVE DISABLED AUTO DETECT DIMM/PCI CLK ENABLED I also downloaded MemTest86+ as recommended on a reply by Ram Guy and it lists several (at least 6 and the test is running) areas that have failed. How can I attach a screen shot of this (if needed)? Chip
orangechipster
Ram Guy - I have only the one Corsair Module in the system - so the RAM errors can only be on the 1 module. I did read the FAQ that was listed and as such created this thread.
