euphoricpoptart
I have an HX1200i (not to be confused with the HX1200) power supply in my current system and I want to replace the PCI-e cables powering my GPU. The cables I currently have installed are the native cables for the power supply, but the PCI-e cables have two heads (idk what else to call them) instead of one. I think I lost the one-headed cables if the PSU came with any, I've had this PSU for a few years. I have some spare AX1600i cables laying around from some other builds, and I was wondering if I could use the PCI-e cables from these PSUs since they have only one head. The issue seems to be that the HX1200i uses PCI-e connectors labelled as Type 3, whereas the AX1600i uses connectors labelled Type 4. According to the cable compatibility chart here (https://www.corsair.com/us/en/psu-cable-compatibility), the Type 3 and Type 4 PCI-e cables are the same. Will it be fine then to use the PCI-e connectors from the AX1600i on my HX1200i?
Vegan
type-3 and type-4 PCIe AND PES12V cables are the same. The type-4 2x12 differences with sense signals not used by type-3.
