WayneG2020
Hi All, I am brand new to the forums here at Corsair and my first time actually going full Corsair for my new pc upgrade. I have a basic question that I need to ask just to be sure it's okay to do so because the last thing I want to do is remove something that could be problematic in the long run. I have recently purchased the new Corsair ICUE 5000X (By the way absolutely in love with it); It comes with a lighting node core pre installed but I am interested in installing my Corsair Commander Pro and I'm wondering if I can remove the pre-installed lighting node core completely from the case? I would appreciate an answer to this question as I am really not sure. Cheers!
Corsair Employees Corsair HP Posted April 6, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 6, 2021 Hi Wayne, The commander PRO does not have the option to have RGB fan cables inserted into it, so you will still need the lighting node core to plug the fan RGB wires into. Each RGB fan has two wires, one for RGB control, and one to control the speed of the fans (RPM). You can put the USB cable from the lighting node core into the commander pro, and also put your fan RPM cables into the commander PRO. I hope that helps. Zotty
as said. you would need an RGB Fan LED hub to plug into one of the Commander Pro's LED Channels. To add, if its the 5000x you are into. then it might be worth reading a faq/guide i have started. https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=204498 and the RGB Faq is always worth the read https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=173880
