Bunnios
I installed the new iCue 4: iCUESetup_4.9.338_release.msi 1. The non-standard installer interface with random colors for options "buttons" looks like Corsair gave a 2-year-old with some crayons a UI designer job. PLEEEEASE STAHP reinventing UIs just for the sake of it. 2. iCue informed me today that there is an update to 4.9.350, which it downloaded and then failed during install with the error "Service 'Corsair LLA Service' (CorsairLLAService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service". The installer had already requested and received user admin elevation. (see attachment screenshot) 3. During this failed install, it managed to delete a file required by Firefox (VCRUNTIME140_1.dll) so that Firefox no longer works and requires a reinstall. Edit: VCRUNTIME140_1.dll is part of the Microsoft C++ 2015/2015/2019 runtime package so it probably broke other software as well. If the same happens to you, go to this page (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0) - "The latest supported Visual C++ downloads" - and download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 and install it. You need to pull this (edit) update immediately and rethink it before it borks other people's computers. Edited March 20, 2021 by Bunnios More details on deleted C++ runtime
Corsair Employees Corsair Travis Posted March 20, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 20, 2021 Hey there! As per your Reddit post. I am glad you were able to resolve this and reinstall ICUE by installing the 4.9.350 version directly. Please let us know if you have any questions in the future! Corsair Employees Corsair James Posted March 22, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 22, 2021 1.) Thanks for the feedback regarding the UI. 2.) LLA Service is the RGB mechanism for DRAM control so this message was a failure of Windows to allow iCUE to install into 'Windows Services' - you will need to investigate your system. 3.) This is not something that should happen and may have been a coincidence - we don't delete anything unrelated to iCUE. where can we download ICUE 4.9.350 version? do you have a link? i'm having trouble getting version 4.9.338 working. I keep getting errors in window and windows keeps closing it. You can download it from Corsair.com/downloads - whats the error?
