Supratip
Hello, I got 2 Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 Mhz 8 GB, total 16 GB RAM. Previously I had 2 Corsair ValueSelect 4GB, total 8 GB. I could overclock previous ones to 2.1 GHz with 1.5 V. But recently when I bought the new ones I can't overclock them to 2.1 GHz with same settings. When I do it goes to blue screen during booting. Does vengeance ones don't allow overclock to 2.1 GHz? And if they do how to do it? My specs : Processor - AMD A8-6600K Motherboard - Gigabyte GA F2A58M-DS2
magarity
Does vengeance ones don't allow overclock to 2.1 GHz? And if they do how to do it? Every individual CPU, GPU, and memory module can overclock to its own amount, as in there is no such thing as saying "all brand X, model Y can overclock z%". If you are determined to OC the memory, I suggest you try one module at a time and see if one of them in particular can overclock less (or more) than the others. Supratip
It doesn't let me oc one module at a time. It's just the option " DRAM frequency" that can be increased or decreased.
magarity
I leave it as an exercise for the reader to figure out how to overclock one memory module at a time.
Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted March 15, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 15, 2021 Each set of RAM modules have different extents for overclocking. The rated speed is typically the one which we'd recommend since it is considered already an overclock from JEDEC standard 1333 MHz.
Supratip
But if it can overclock more then why not, right? And if one set can be overclocked differently then there should be an option for it. And also if both have different frequencies wouldn't they cause problems!?
