Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 4, 2005 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed for your MB and load optimized defaults settings, and try the following BIOS settings; TwinX512 Or Twinx1024-4400C25 Genie BIOS/DRAM Configuration DRAM Frequency Set: 2:1 or 400MHz or 200 (if option are 133/166/200) Command Per Clock: 2T SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T Genie BIOS Clock Spread Spectrum: Enabled CPU Freq: 200 or 250 CPU/DRAM ratio: 1:1 or 100% HT or LDT Frequency: 3X DRAM Voltage 2.75 volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI 9200 or 9600 then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings are motherboards defaults Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure!

thaibog
my apologies my friend..i am not familiar enough to comment on the s754's...i hear some boards such as the a8v have trouble with 2 dimms in...but i am on socket 939...good luck
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 13, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 13, 2005 A8V is a socket 939, and they have no problem running at 2 or even 4 modules; socket 754 may not reach 250, but you can try it by setting the HT frequency to 3X. Please let me know how you make out.
m1oberon
Thank you, I have tried that with no success. I should have done more research. Oh well, at least next time I'll know better. Thanks to each of you for your help. Corsair is the greatest!
