iCue HW profiles HELP

Extecylla

Recommended Posts

So I am having this well known issue where USB ports (mostly my h100i RGB cooler) gets randomly DC/RC due to unknow iCue issue. And I read somewhere online that you could set a HW profile and then exit the application and things would stop randomly DC/RC.

BUT it is not working for my CPU cooler and my RAM.

Could someone, for the love of god, PLEASE HELP ME.

been stuck with this issue for about a month now and its driving me crazy.

Your Hardware Lighting for the H100i Platinum is correct. That should drop it into a static blue whenever CUE is not running, including boot/shutdown.

The RAM is trickier and the HW mode accessed in a different way. Click on the Settings at the top, then navigate to the RAM. There will be a checkbox marked "enable full software mode". When this is checked, CUE controls the RAM lighting when it's running. Uncheck it. Your prior effect will disappear and you are now in RAM HW mode. Whichever effect you pick will be written to the device and will be persistent, whether CUE is running or not. Since it must run from the RAM, the choices are slightly more limited and you can't stack multiple effects.

Are you plugging the USB for your cooler into the USB passthrough on a Commander Pro? If you are, you are most likely running into a USB power issue where the motherboard is not providing enough power over the internal USB 2.0 header in order to properly connect the devices connected to the passthrough. To resolve this you would need to utilize a high quality internal USB hub that has supplemental power from your power supply.
