BNeLLi531 Posted February 10, 2021 Share Posted February 10, 2021 I have an AF140 Quiet Edition fan that makes a really loud noise. Almost like it's hitting something, but it's not. c-attack Posted February 10, 2021 Share Posted February 10, 2021 Don't get too many AF140 noise complaints. Does the noise increase in frequency/rate as you increase fan speed? Or just get louder? The soft rubber corners can sometimes get compressed if you tighten screws too tightly. If you have been working with that fan recently, try loosening each corner screw by a 1/4 or 1/2 turn and see of the noise stops. If you have not touched the fan at all recently, this is not likely to be the problem. If the unusual noise gets louder rather than faster when RPMs increase, it's probably a motor issue.
