faxfan
When I start the iCUE application the GPU usage goes up to at least 30% on my RTX3090 going into the dashboard takes that up to 40%. I've done a clean installed on the latest NVidia drivers (DDU in safe mode) and everything is working fine. What is going on?!?
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted February 2, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2021 The iCUE software is hardware accelerated. If you have lots of RGB products all doing custom or very detailed lighting effects they have to be rendered when you have the software open and that is done by your GPU. But that is all conjecture as you really haven't provided much information to go on.
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted February 2, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2021 Decided to show you the usage I could produce on my personal rig that has a 3090 in it also. By setting the LT100 towers to Super X instead of my usual STATIC Blue, and setting the memory to a simple blue Visor effect I see around 17-23% usage spikes. When I turned on all the options of the dashboard I the 36% spike I saw was the max. Now these are all spikes and they are only when iCUE is the primary window of focus. It is also with only 2 RGB devices doing software controlled effects. On average I was seeing GPU usage between 3-10% when it didn't spike, and those spikes were not that common but do occur. You will find this happens on a lot of GPUs as the same thing would happen on my 1080ti with pretty much identical usage.
