Virtuoso SE Wireless removed when switched to USB-Mode

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I installed my Virtuoso SE Wireless Headset and iCue all in the newest versions.

Now i want do switch the Headset to the USB-Mode to turn it off when i dont use it over a longer time. When i do so, the whole Headset is removed from my audio devices (also from the windows device manager) even if the slipstream dongle is connected.

This causes some problems.

-) another random device is selected for my microphone and audio device, this is "ok" but also not the best way because when you dont care, maybe an other app listens to you if it suddenly uses the microphone of your webcam.

-) In some apps i can select a fixed microphone to use, so there i select the Virtuoso by default. But when the Headset is removed completly, these apps switch to other headsets/microphones automatically.

When the Headset is switched to wireless mode again, these apps cant switch back to the headset and then i have to manually set the headset back there, every time i switches the headset of an on again.

You can try this for example with Nvidia Broadcast.

Other Headsets are shown as available in Windows as long as the dongle is connected. So if you want to switch the Headset off or it rans out of battery, you dont have to reconfigure all your apps again after powering it on.

Is there a way to keep the devices "alive" in this case?

Best regards!

Juergen

I know that the device is removed as long as no wireless connection is established.

But as I mentioned in my examples this is annoying and impracticable.

It would be ok to remove the headset when I disconnect the Dongle but not when I switch of the headset itself to save battery.

There are some other brands with dongles and they keep the device and also the settings as long as the dongle is connected.

Is your printer removed from the devices when it is powered of and then you have to reconfigure all you programs to use this printer again?

Best regards

Jürgen

If you wish to have that functionality then you will need to go with those other brands. This is not an issue with the headset and it is indeed working as it should and expected.
