HX1000i: I need a cable for the CPU

Hi all,

 

I have an HX1000i PSU. I have upgraded my pc to RYZEN 5950X, and the new motherboard (ASUS CROSSHAIR VII DARK HERO).

This board has 2 connectors for the CPU:

1 x 8-pin ATX 12V Power connector (HX1000i has two cables of this type)

1 x 4-pin ATX 12V Power connector (HX1000i does not have a coble of this type).

 

The manual says that the 1x4-pin is optional, but still I would like to connect it.

 

Is there a way to buy the missing cable?

the CPU 8 pin should be splittable 4+4 pins.

Just separate the second connector in half and connect :)

The EPS12V cable is an 8(4+4) pin connector. If you look really closely you can split the connector in half, and this is what you will need to utilize for the 4pin connector you the motherboard.

I found no real value to the extra 4-pin port. The 8-pin cable can provide upwards of 350W so its plenty for 99% of gaming enthusiasts.

 

Make sure the video card cables are all in good condition.

yup, the 5950x should pull about half what the 8 pin is rated for.

Connect the 4 pin for aesthetics reason, really :)
