Kalak
I picked up a K70 keyboard at the thrift store, and I've been happy with it. I've given it a good cleaning (taking the keycaps off, etc.) and there's no sign of damage. I've only used it for basic typing, and none of the advanced features. All the keys are lit, and the basic keys work. Multimedia controls don't work, but volume up/down does. I've got no idea what the keys on the top or the "BIOS/1/2/4/8" switch does. Since it's from a thrift store, I can't look at the box, or ask the previous owner what it is. The label on the bottom is worn off, so I can really only tell it's a K70. I'm looking into these things now but I can't get iCUE to detect it. I also can't find even a basic manual on Corsair's web site. Trying the keyboard reset methods doesn't seem to work either. Can someone tell me what this is? Any ideas why it's not showing up in the iCUE (or the older Corsair Utility)? I've restarted the HID service for the multimedia keys, and no luck with that either. Also, I'm wondering what the keys on the top are for. (Or a link to a manual would be nice) Edit:I'm not sure why the images aren't embedding. Here's links to the top and the bottom Edited January 21, 2021 by Kalak
c-attack
Best guess is that is an actual "K70" with no trailing RGB/LUX/Mk2 suffix. That was a one color LED keyboard from 8-9 years ago. It will not be recognized by CUE. I am having trouble even finding a picture for it. (Found the red one). The key font suggests it is not the visually similar 'rapidfire' version that came later. https://www.corsair.com/ww/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Keyboards/CORSAIR-Gaming-K70-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-%E2%80%94-CHERRY%C2%AE-MX-Red/p/CH-9000069-NA Any kind of serial number you can see? It would look something like 9000069 with possibly NA or WW tacked on. The top buttons (from right to left) are Windows Lock, KB brightness, and a specific WASD brightness toggle to differentiate it from the rest of the KB. The page doesn't say anything about programming macros or the like, so I may be "stuck" with just a standard keyboard with blacklights and the Cherry MX Browns I like. :winking: Hardly a bad thing at all. Thanks for helping me figure it out.
c-attack
I don't think you will be able to set up macros without support software. You can try Corsair Link and see if it recognizes it. This was one keyboard before I started using and I am not sure if it will or not. This keyboard was around somewhere in the nexus between the older Corsair gaming software and Link. Possible it even needs the earlier version. Corsair have buried the download link for Corsair Link 4.9.4.28 (~2017). It is still on the Corsair site if you search the download page for "Link" or you can get it from a trusted 3rd party site. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/downloads
Kalak
I don't think you will be able to set up macros without support software. You can try Corsair Link and see if it recognizes it. Corsair Link didn't work (it doesn't seem to have any keyboard support). I did finally find the Corsair page for it which let me download the Quick Start Guide. It looks like the extra features aren't much of an add for me. Mainly just changing the LED brightness for certain keys, which I don't need. From looking at the QSG, it seems that everything but the main key functions doesn't work as it's supposed to. It's an old, second hand keyboard, so I'm not complaining at all. The core functionality works great still, and that's enough to make me happy. Maybe if I find I want the macro capability, I'll get a newer model. For now, I'll just use AutoHotKey for my needs, just as I did before I found this gem. Thanks for your help.
