Kweck
Hello together, I do have some major issues with iCUE. I had them also before the last Update to Version 3.37.140 but I just figured out that iCUE is the root cause. I do have: - Corsair K95 Platinum - Corsair Virtuoso - Logitech G502 - a RTX 2060 great - i7 8700 on an ASRock Phantom Gaming 4S board Problem: Massive Frame Drops to 10 frames or less or lets say short freezes for about half a second while moving in games. Affekted are many games like Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, Cyberpunk 2077, Elder Scrolls Online and so on. I.e. Sea of Thieves runs with about 180 FPS and as soon as I turn the view (doesn't matter if horizontally or vertically) the frames are dropping below 10. That happens about every 2 seconds as long as I keep turning. Moving straight forward is no issue. I tried: - Shutting down nearly everything running in background (like G-Hub and so on. Thats how I figuered out iCUE is the problem) - Clean install iCUE - playing with the polling rate (Abfragerate) in GHub, in iCUE as mentioned in different threads Fact is, as soon as I stop iCUE everything runs smoothly. As soon as I start iCUE I can't play anymore. Therefore I can't use the headset as intended shutting down iCUE for playing is no option. I didn't find any solution in the older threads with this problem. Any help? Thanks in advance Kweck
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted January 18, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2021 Create a support ticket regarding your issue explaining it exactly as you have here. Also with the support ticket export the iCUE software logs right after you get the issue to replicate and attach those along with the resulting ZIP file from the reporting tool linked below. Once you have done that send me a PM with your ticket number and I will forward it to one of our support agents who deals with situations like yours. https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027964592-How-do-I-use-the-Elgato-Windows-Reporter-utility-
Kweck
Ok, I will do so. The Problem is easy to reproduce.
Kweck
Done. As mentioned in the PM (but maybe interesting for others also): I uninstaled or deactiviated some stuff running in background normally on my machine. For example Discord, deactivated NVIDIA Overlay, Stopped all Launchers like Steam and so on... Everything I found. Even Bonjour (What the... I don't owe any Apple device... Whatever) That improved the framerate it drops to. But it doesn't avoid the problem. Even if the framerate after fresh reboot without any stuff started stay a bit higher (it drops to below 60 or 50 FPS coming from above 100) it still happens. As soon as I stop iCUE the FPS stay way above 100 even if I start Discord, Steam, NVIDIA Overlay (to show FPS for example), start Wallpaper Engine, start Chrome(or Edge) in the background what EATS RAM as everybody know... Nothing effects the FPS like iCUE does. (All tested with Sea of Thieves with settings high as test game) Let's hope we can find what happens here. If you need any other tests or information please come back to me.

Yup, sounds about right. If you search for "Corsair microstutter" or "iCUE microstutter" you'll find a bunch of older threads with basically the same issue. The only thing we've learned is that Corsair is not a software company.
LeDoyen
The main thread about this issue is there. it dropped a bit down the forum the past days, but it's being dealt with.. but it will likely take time.. https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=189562&page=15 CPU usage did get reduced a lot already, but if you experience such massive performance losses, there may be more to it. Have a gander, you may find workarounds there that work for you (like disabling the CPUID hardware monitoring embedded in iCUE)
Kweck
Yes, I'm still investigating my issue with the support. I doubt it is the problem of the stated thread alone in this case. It has to be some cross-effect with other things. Removing the monitoring parts (CpuIDRemote.exe and so on) doesn't change anything in my case. I just stumpled upon one thing I will report to the support first. Maybe I got something just seconds ago.
Kweck
So, finally I did some further testing and found a workaround that works for me. I just sent my response to the support also (I did some tests on another system also) But maybe my solution helps others with similar problems. I just lowered the reading/polling rate within the G Hub Software (Logitech G502 Mouse in use) from 1000Hz to 500Hz. That's it. I don't know why iCUE causes problems (or the combination with G Hub(?)) because as soon as I stop iCUE I do not have any problems even if I still use the same Hardware - but it does. So if iCUE is running and in G Hub the mouse reading is set to 1000Hz = Problem iCUE off, G502 Mouse reading 1000Hz = no Problem at all iCUE running, G502 Mouse reading 500Hz = (nearly) no Problem I leave it this way and I'm fine with that. So if you have similar problems try to lower reading/pilling rate of Mouse and kayboard. Maybe that helps you out.
