HellbaneMD
Hi everyone, First time watercooler here. I recently snagged an ASUS RTX 3090 EKWB version (has built in EK water block) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R5WDMZC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Can I use Corsair's Hydro X to cool both my CPU and GPU? Is the tubes and fitting compatible with EK's built in water block? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
LeDoyen
All the watercooling available on the market is G1/4 threads, so every manufacturer is compatible with the others. So you can use corsair fittings of your choice, or any other brand of course. I don't believe the card comes with any fittings, so you'll just buy them with the rest of the loop when you do your Hydro-X setup. Worth looking if the card comes with plugs. I believe they do come with two G1/4 plugs but worth checking. For aesthetic purposes you may want to toss two of those in the cart, if you do a GPU vertical mounting. They don't cost much anyway. Kuro Houou
I'd recommend getting the Strix version honestly and putting your own block on it. I was a bit scared at first to do it myself but honestly it worked out very well. I just finished my build a couple days ago, using the Corsair block. Temps never go above 55C and that's with the Strix with 3 PCI-E power cables pushing up to 480 Watts TDP!!! I can push anywhere from 2050-2100mhz and hold that in games. I'd say with the water block you can easily hit and hold 100mhz higher overclocks then stock fans, not to mention you can actually hear your games because the fans aren't going crazy, its very quiet with a custom loop!!
