Clevor
Why would the Bosch pump on the HC200EX be considered a durable piece? Isn't it a windshield washer pump, which normally runs for only a few seconds at most, maybe 4-5x a month, in it's normal application? Yet on the HC200 unit, it has to run continuously. I know it has an estimated hour life and is a well-made German product, but . . .

Celvor, Nope, it was not from a washer pump application. However, you'll find a lot of these on Mercedes-Benz diesel engines. :sunglasse It's the booster pump for the water-cooling of the engine. When a diesel engine is at idle, the water flow drops to near nothing. So, the booster pump is required. That's what you have in the HC200, an auxiliary pump that runs all the time. Now you know why the Bosch pump has a 3/4" fitting. It matches the water-cooling hoses for the engine, just like the heater core. :!: The washer-pump motors found in many vehicles are made by Mabuchi Motor Co. You'll also find these same motors in your VCR, CD-ROM/DVD player, cordless screw drivers, and the like. http://www.mabuchi-motor.co.jp/english Stev

stev
Well that application is a different story! This is good news. :headbang2 I hope so myself! I know that people are having headaches over the ThermalTake BigWater due in part with the tinny pump inside the reservoir and the cheap fittings. The pump motor could be one of those washer/DVD/cheap drill motors. Stev
