Corsair Scimitar macros/keybinds not working.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I have a Corsair Scimitar Mouse with buttons G1-G12. I used my ICUE software to setup a Profile, we'll call it WOW. I re-assigned my keybinds so that 1-12 on my keyboard would connect to G1-G12 (I also recorded Macros and saved them in my action library). So I have a profile with 12 actions in it.

Now, for whatever reason, it does not work. I press G1 on the mouse, nothing happens. I'm specifically try to set this up for World of Warcraft, but I also opened a Word file and pressing G1 still does nothing. I wish this mouse weren't so complicated. My brother has a RAzer and it's already pre-set for keys 1-12 to link to corresponding mouse buttons.

I don't understand, why would you have to remap AND create new macros? That seems really complicated. Like you have to record the Macro for the key + remap it?

I'm pretty sure I set this up with JUST Macros the last time.

This time, I just remapped them (wouldn't that reassign them?) so that 1 on my keyboard = G1 on the mouse, 2 = G2, etc. I went under the Macro dropdown menu and selected Numeric Keypad under Remap, as shown in this video.

As you can see it works perfectly for this guy.

Honestly, right now I'm wishing I had a Razer where it came preset already. I hope there's some advantage to having a Corsair Scimitar, but it just feels really complicated and frustrating to go through a 10 step process to setup very basic keybinds, when other mice already have it as a default, or it takes just a step or 2 to setup.

Hi Jukeboxhero,

Did you remap 1-12 on your keyboard to G1-G12 AND also recorded them to Macros? Remapping and recording for macros would be different actions.

Am I required to do both, or are you asking because doing both might be interfering with my programming?

You don't need to record any macros. When you create a new action it defaults to "macro", but you likely want the simple remap here and that is a 2 click process.

1) Create the new action. Change from Macro to Remap "Num and Symbols Keys" (unless you specifically want the num pad keys like in the video).

2) Pick the number. Click on the corresponding mouse G-key number in the picture to assign it.

Make sure you are doing this in the Actions Tab, not the Actions Library. The Library is a clipboard for moving or assigning frequently used actions to multiple profiles. It is not an active part of any profile.

Thanks, I will give that a shot. I know there's a way to make this work as I did succesfully set it up several years ago. Is this basically the same method shown in that video? You still have to do this for each individual key, right?
