giacs2k
Hi I own 2x256MB Corsair.PC3500.XMS.433MHz.CL2 I'd like to add 1 (2) modules to reach 1GB of RAM. Since 3500 is out of production, what should i get? This is my current setup: Abit IC7 P4 2.4@3.312 FSB 276 DRAM/R 5:4 freq 222 CAS 2 Act to Precharge 5 RAS TO CAS 3 RAS Precharge 2 Thanks, giacs
Yellowbeard
For a variety of reasons, I'd highly suggest that you not try to mix different types of RAM, even if all the sticks are Corsair. There are endless posts about problems with this. Also, the ABIT IC-7 series MOBOs were not very robust in the voltage control for the memory. My suggestion would be to get the PC3200XL TwinX 1024mb kit for 1gb of RAM. If you actually "need" more RAM, you could consider adding another EXACTLY matching kit of PC3200XL. However, there are no guarantees it will work and Corsair does not validate or guarantee operation with 4 sticks. They do validate and guarantee with 2 sticks/1Twinx kit. Mike.
