Void RGB Elite Wireless hissing/white noise with iCUE installed

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, so basically, if I install iCUE the headset starts making a hissing/white noise like sound whenever there is sound playing. Sure I can drown out the hiss by pumping up the volume, but whenever I want to listen to something on a lower volume the hiss becomes really annoying. I can remove the hissing by uninstalling the iCUE app and the sound becomes crystal clear - hissing non-existant. Im fine being without the iCUE installed, but I wont be able to check the headsets battery life and I do like the lady voice that tells me whenever my mic is on/off, etc.

Anybody got a solution for this? Thanks in advance.

Same exact issue i had been getting around this by using an old version of icue but that somehow got a mic always muted issue.

Sidetone is off and it doesnt affect the problem.

issue goes away when icue is uninstalled, a driver issue maybe?

EDIT: SOLVED

I have tried this often posted fix many times and it didn't work because i didn't follow it properly at 8 it doesn't say no device detected, the headset pops up, so I assumed that was it, but if you actually do follow 9 and uninstall and delete drivers again the hiss does disappear!!!

Hi All,

So I recently started getting this issue with my beloved VOID Wireless Gaming Headset and it progressively got worse.

But I have found a permanent fix for it and can now listen to multimedia without constant audio popping or cracking that was driving me insane.

The issue isn't actually with the product but the default driver Windows 10 installs when you insert the dongle into a USB port for the first time and becuase iCUE sees the driver already installed it uses that faulty one instead of the correct Corsair OEM Driver. (Since the Creative Update Windows has been handling drivers differently.)

To stop this from happening and install the Corsair Void Headset without this issue, do the following:

1. Uninstall iCUE from Programs and Features and reboot.

Now windows will automatically pick up the device again and reinstall the driver.

Do the folllowing to remove the device again and stop it from reinstalling (if any other devices give you issues in future just renable this afterwards):

2. Go to "Device Manager" -> "View" -> "Devices By Container".

3. Right click and uninstall all devices under the "Corsair VOID RGB Wireless Gaming Headset" container and make sure to tick the option "Delete Device Drivers".

4. Search under Control Panel "Hardware" then select the underlined "Change Device Driver Installation Settings". -> Change the option "Automatically Download Drivers..." to "No" or "Never" (if any other devices give you issues in future just re-enable this afterwards).

5. If the device is still visable under "Devices" in the WIndows 10 Settings App Remove it there too.

6. Unplug the Dongle from the Computer and Reboot.

7. Install the latest version of iCUE with the Dongle unplugged and Reboot.

8. Insert the Dongle, iCUE will auto-start and say "No Device Detected" then Windows will install the wrong default driver.

9. Go back to "Device Manager" -> "View" -> "Devices By Container" and uninstall all drivers under the "Corsair VOID RGB Wireless Gaming Headset" container again.

10. iCUE Will now auto-detect your device again and reinstall the correct driver.

This fixed my issue and I really hope that this tutorial will help some of you guys with the same issue.

Let me know if it worked for you too.

Happy listening.

I just got this headset and I tried this workaround, it got rid of the surround entirely and the static with it but I could not use the surround, period. The headset was completely stereo even with iCUE running.

I'm not sure if this means I did the workaround wrong or if that's the intent of the workaround alltogether.

Either way I can't deal with having no surround, I did find a way to have the surround and not hear the static which is to have the headset at about 60%.

If anyone has any other workarounds for the white noise/hissing sound whenever there is noise played through the headset (minus the actual internal headset noises like the beeps for muting, etc) or if I actually did do the steps above wrong.

Please let me know, my VOID RBG Pro wireless was my favorite headset, but the microphone rubber material began to tear and I was holding it together with electrical tape which is why I got a Void RBG Elite (the pro was about 3 years old, maybe 4)

Hi Serene,

Try a soft reset, it's been known to solve various issues. To soft reset your headset:

  1. Make sure your headset is currently unplugged.
  2. Make sure your headset is powered on.
  3. Hold the Mute button on the headset down for about 15 seconds.
  4. Hold down the power button until the headset turns on.
  5. Test your headset and see if the issue is resolved.

If that does not remedy the issue, please open a ticket at https://help.corsair.com. Our support will be able to help you troubleshoot.

I have the same problem with mine and they only have 1 day of use ... I want to understand that it is a product or software failure.

I have already tried everything like doing a soft reset and do what they say above and I have tried several times but nothing. I am about to return the product because, according to what I see on the corsair forum, this failure has been occurring since 2017 in several devices and they have not given any solution to the problem.

Oh MY GOD THANK YOU SOO MUCH, the only way i could previously fix this was by using voicemeeter banana (which for some reason fixes the problem)

THANK YOU SO MUCH ive been dealing with this for MONTHS

No iCue Hi, the steps above didn't work for me or either I was too lazy to do them properly, but however what I did realize was that, these are newer headsets and most people don't upgrade their PC, and I got to thinking that I've got 2 different variations of USB-B inputs. I've got the normal 2.0 on my front panels and some on the back of the motherboard, and I've got the blue USB-B 3.0 inputs, plugged the dongle into the 3.0 input and the hiss was gone, I'll update this again after the iCue software update.

I bought corsair void elite rgb wireless product without knowing this problem unfortunately, I've tried many things including the instructions that pint-shot-riot gave(not to mention uninstalling realtek drivers, using with spatial sound on and off, doing soft reset) currently using this headset without icue installed. I'm a little bit confused and lost. Can anyone help?

I did all steps but didn't worked, it's so sad because this headset wasn't cheap, the least thing that corsair could give to us is a decent software. Big mistake buying a headset from this brand, a hyperx would be better.

I'm having this same issue. This is the second time this has happened and it happens EVERY time I need to change the dongle location on my PC, Either because I have new cables I need to put in or because the elevation of my tower is different and I need to adjust so my headset isn't underneath the dongle as that causes a whole host of other issues (primarily it refuses to remain connected)

It is ridiculous that this is still an issue all this time later. How has this not been fixed. Hopefully the steps will work again this time but I'm getting very tired of this. Without a doubt I will never buy another Corsair product again.

I'm going to point out, that the issue get's solved for me at Step 7, because going to Step 8, not only is the problem gone (at least for now) but I also have a Corsair K70 keyboard that ICUE loves to pretend doesn't exist, It also recognizes the device right away, instead of not doing so like the instructions dictate. Still it is very irritating that I am required to restart my PC 3 times, uninstall multiple things and then reinstall them just to resolve this issue.
