As many of you have already noticed, a new firmware was released for MP600 recently. Our team have put together a firmware release doc (attached) which should provide insight into what has been changed since EGFM11.3.

Thank you everyone for your patience. If you require technical assistance with your SSD please contact our support team at https://help.corsair.com

My drive slowed when I installed this and it apparently has hit more than a few people....can you please address this issue?

Thanks

This is becoming ridiculous...

A brand new MP600 unit failing multiple times in a week in a brand new x570 Aorus motherboard. System hangs, logs report the disk has switch to read-only mode, loss of work and confidence in a new purchase. SMART says the drive is ok, so it is probably some firmware issue. Let's try to upgrade...

Unfortunately, Corsair does not officially (or unofficially, btw) support Linux. Ok, well, I'll try a Win10 clean install from USB enrolling in the Insider program just to upgrade the firmware for the ssd drive. Guess what? Win10 install does show the "missing media driver" message and installation does not progress no matter how many weird workarounds I try (changing USB port, maybe AHCI, maybe RAID, maybe...). So maybe it just doesn't know how to talk to the MP600? Back to Linux, there must be some other way than installing a different operating system, dealing with the headaches this installation generates and losing my data along the way.

So given that Corsair does not provide a non-Windows compatible solution (I mean, a LiveCD kind of thing like other manufacturers provide would have worked!) you need to use a tool from the competition to upgrade the firmware. How awkward is that from the brand marketing point of view? Anyway, after quite some digging I find a tool that might (I hope?) work.

But then, it turns out that you cannot download the new firmware. Apparently there's a page in this same forum with firmware downloads, but nobody seems to have access to it, and people even start believing it might be because they need to do some magical rituals like posting at least ten messages. The only way to get the latest firmware if through the propietary upgrade tool that only runs on Windows, which by the way does not install (win10 clean install from usb) and in any way would force you to destroy your data or deal with a recovery strategy.

C'mon, people... is this some kind of competition to provide the worst possible user experience ever?

Just updated my MP600 2TB from EGFM11.3 to EGFM13.

I have a very clean Windows 10 system (all unnecessary background processes, services and 3rd party apps disabled).

Here is my comparison using CrystalDiskMark 8.0.

EGFM 11.3:

1st execution (after manually triggering Windows 10 GUI trim)

2nd execution:

3rd execution:

4th execution (after manually triggering Windows 10 GUI trim)

5th execution (after restarting CrystalDiskMark and manually triggering Windows 10 GUI trim)

EGFM 13:

1st execution (after manually triggering Windows 10 GUI trim)

2nd execution:

3rd execution:

4th execution (after manually triggering Windows 10 GUI trim)

5th execution (after restarting CrystalDiskMark and manually triggering Windows 10 GUI trim)

Conclusion:

1. No matter which EGFM version was used, the two SEQ1M Q8T1/Q1T1 tests show totally unstable results despite no other apps or background tasks were running thus making a comparison impossible

2. All other 6 tests show somewhat stable results and there is no significant difference between the EGFM versions

System details:

Motherboard: Gigabyte x570 Aorus Xtreme

BIOS Version: F10

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3900x

Memory: 32GB Corsair CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16

Memory speed: XMP profile 1, 3200 MHz, 16-18-18-36-54

Windows Build and Version: Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19043 Build 19043

M.2 slot: M2A_SOCKET

PCIe speed: Gen4

Drive usage: For OS

Heatsink: MP600's pre-mounted heatsink

BitLocker: ENABLED using the new AES-XTS encryption method

I see a new versión (EGFM15.1) in SSD toolbox, but when I try to update it fails. Any solution?

Same for me. It doesn't say "Failed", it's just the same firmware as before the flash.

Same problem here. 15.1 Firmware update fails

Mine is MP600 1TB, the program downloads the update but fails when trying to install.

Last update (from 11.3 to 13.0) worked just fine, I didn't try to update the drive without being used to run the OS anyway.

@Corsair CJ any news or changelog about this update?

Hey guys, I sent this information to the proper team to look into.  Please refrain from attempting to update the firmware for now to 15.1.

Update: Our team has pinpointed and rectified the issue.  If you are still having an issue with the latest firmware update please let us know through support.corsair.com

Still the same problem for me. The firmware update starts and finishes but after I restart my computer Toolbox still reports that it's the 13.0 firmware.

I run Toolbox in Administrator mode.

Running latest Toolbox, mine says my firmware is up to date with firmware 13.0.  Just a few days ago was saying firmware 15.1 was available but it would not update to 15.1 stayed at 13. Maybe that is the fix they are talking about, maybe 15.1 was not made for this drive?

If you do not have a firmware update for your specific drive then the prompt will go away.  If you are still having issues in which the update seemingly completes and does not "take" please create a ticket and you may PM me the info so I can get it to our engineering team to look into.
