Gotchapine007
Hi guys, I replaced my Nvme with a Samsung EVO 970 Plus 2TB. Not sure what was the temperature beofre with the original one but now when I look at the sensor with Aida64 or HWInfo, it reads 77 degree centigrade - 171 degree Fahrenheit. is that normal for the Corsair one or is it that my Nvme is defect? Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted January 7, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 7, 2021 Can you see what temperature you get in Crystal Disk Info? It might be still safe for your drive, depends on what Samsung rates it's operating temperatures.

zguy85
Here's your answer, after running for a bit that is normal. I have the same Samsung NVME and normally run the main fan max setting to keep it below 65c. C1 currently isn't designed to keep an NVME cool in that tight space. All you can do is run the main fan faster and louder. Those Samsungs perform great but they get hot hot.
Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted January 11, 2021 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2021 It's a little toasty, keep an eye on it. Because it's a performance drive, it's definitely producing a lot of heat and may not be suitable for such a small case.

It's probably a stupid question but it's the first time I have a Corsair gear and use iCue. How do you set the fan speed? Mine are doing it automatically for the moment
Gotchapine007
Found it !. I created a new profile and changed the custom to 70% (it's still relatively silent and cool the drive to 64 degress). I use Streamdeck to change the profile when the drive is getting a little hot for my taste. Next step is to investigate how I can automate this and change the profile automatically based on the Nvme temp
