ricky1088
Hello Corsair and friends here, I am thinking of getting 6 corsair pwm fans for my first gaming build.I am opens to suggestion and recommendation for the fans model types. for the integration part, my mobo is a MSI Z490 Ace. I understand, a 3 Fan Pack come with Lighting Node PRO but do I still need a Corsair commander pro to make it work. Thank you ricky1088
c-attack
The Commander Pro is a fan controller + RGB Lighting control, along with some other fan control tools. It is not essential to gain lighting control over the system. Some Corsair fans come with a Lighting Node Pro (ML/LL) and newer ones with a Lighting Node Core (QL, SP-Pro). If you are only concerned with fan lighting, this does not make a difference. However, "Core" devices only do fans. The "Pro" devices are also cable of handling LED strips and related lighting elements.
ricky1088
I had just placed order for 6 Corsair LL120 RGB 120mm Dual light loop RGB led PWM fans and a Corsair commander Pro for my first gaming build.I understand the pack also came with RGB lighting Hub which is relevant to my setup and a lighting node pro which i can keep for future use. Is the items correctly bought , or do i need to buy another item to make them work.
c-attack
You will have everything you need. Each LL120x3 triple pack will have a Lighting Node Pro (controller) and RGB Lighting hub (power). You can put all 6 fans on a single hub connected to 1 of the Node Pro's 2 channels. That leaves you an extra channel to add strips or more fans. Keep the extra LNP and RGB hub. They have value for expansion or easier troubleshooting if you run into a problem down the line.
