mikedoh
Hi, I ordered the HX1200i PSU yesterday and it was delivered today via amazon. The motherboard is getting power but its failing to post. I noticed the sticky at the top of the page after trying to find out what was going on. Is my lot code affected ? LOT: 20387191 SN : 20387191000005840078 If it is, im a bit annoyed amazon is still selling these and just spent the best part of 2 hours doing cable management etc Can someone let me know Thanks Mike
c-attack
That appears to be in the recall range. Amazon should not be selling these still. Normally exchanging it through them is the fastest resolution, but if they are still shipping them out, then I am not sure that will help. I would contact both Corsair Support and Amazon. mikedoh
On with amazon technical support and they just don't understand the recall. I've tried to explain it but they just seem to have a very basic grasp. Really annoyed by this but even if they send a replacement I've no guarantee to not get the same power supply in the affected lot codes.
c-attack
No guarantee, but depending on where you live they may have #2 at your door before Corsair Support responds. Luck may be on your side, but if not you are still in the same position and you won’t be absorbing the shipping costs.
MikkoBrokenPSU
Try to get your PSU replaced by Amazon. I got my RMA PSU from recalled lot from Corsair Netherlands, so it all down to luck what you get. Corsair support is also really slow in communication, Amazon should be faster. Ive been assured the new PSU wont be in the affective lot, and its arriving tomorrow, ill update! Fingers crossed!
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted December 29, 2020 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 29, 2020 That appears to be in the recall range. Amazon should not be selling these still. Normally exchanging it through them is the fastest resolution, but if they are still shipping them out, then I am not sure that will help. I would contact both Corsair Support and Amazon. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't care about Corsair's recall. I don't mean that like "Amazon is a crappy company". Not at all. They just don't want to go through the hassle and cost of pulling product from their hubs and sending it back (which they would end up charging Corsair for anyways). The general attitude from most retailers is "let the customer buy it and if they have a problem, they can contact Corsair about it". We had the same problem with the SF750's. We told everyone to send them back and Corsair was basically told "we'll let the customers do that if they run into a problem." We could only pull back what was still in Corsair's warehouses. :(:
mikedoh
:( Got the replacement from amazon, even though they assured me it wont be in the affected lot codes, the one i have been sent is : Lot code : 20367169 Is there even any point putting this in my system and changing all the cables again? pseico
do you have any other issues when doing a "cold start"? Have the Problem, that my PC is doing several start ups ( on off on off ... ) before starting, when the pc was shut off over night ( not cut of from power ). Also have a lot nr. within the range an no POST screen with an MSI MEG Tomahawk
mikedoh
do you have any other issues when doing a "cold start"? Have the Problem, that my PC is doing several start ups ( on off on off ... ) before starting, when the pc was shut off over night ( not cut of from power ). Also have a lot nr. within the range an no POST screen with an MSI MEG Tomahawk Mine never posted to Bios , just restarts every 5 seconds. As an update, twice after speaking to amazon and promises I would get a PSU with the non affected LOT code, i was let down both times, that's 3 PSUs with faults. Corsair, I understand you don't have much control but it doesn't paint you in the best light. I've completely give up now on my hx1200i.
