Is my H100i Platinum SE acting normal?

When I cold boot my computer, the aio gets crazy loud. It sounds like grinding sound. Im not sure if its bubbles or pump itself is ramping up. The activity is normal after start up. The radiator is mounted top.

Have you changed your fan curves? The default curves should run from coolant temperature (H100i temp) with or without the software. It is perfectly fine to use a custom curve (and recommended), but the sensor variable should still be H100i Temp. If the software is not running, then it cannot get other temperature sources. The aio is running at stock settings so I did not make changes to the fan curves. Surprisingly, the sound occurs upon start up.

Try setting a custom curve. Performance tab +. Graph will appear below. In the top right corner above the graph are three shape tools corresponding to the three presets. Pick one then make sure sensor is set to H100i Temp. You can adjust the points if needed. Finally make sure you click on the custom curve on the left (highlights yellow) then click both fans on the right (ring yellow) to show they are now part of that profile group.

 

This will force the device to re-write the fan curve to its memory. It also allows you too see the X:Y coordinates so you know what speed it should run. You can quit CUE from the task bar to see if control remains without the aid of the software.
