automag91
Any1 else having this issue, the firmware update keeps failing in iCUE? It is plugged in a Commander Pro and not directly into a MB USB header, but that shouldn't cause this issue.

Just a bit of extra latency can cause an issue.
automag91
I connected directly to the MB USB header and the firmware update is still failing.
Heyward83
I connected directly to the MB USB header and the firmware update is still failing. Had same problem, don't update with the arrow at the bottom do it through the top tab and it worked first time for me. ryzen5000
I also am having the same issue. I just built a PC today with a Corsair 500D case w/ included Commander Pro and an H115i Elite Capellix that required a Commander Core. I plugged both the Pro and the Core into my 2 motherboard USB 2.0 connectors and both were initially recognized by the iCUE software, but the Commander Core is no longer recognized after failing to install firmware v 1.6.135. When I click update the Commander Core, the progress sits at either 0%, 7%, or 10%, and eventually fails and disappears from the recognized device list. ryzen5000
I got mine to work by installing v3.34.161 of the iCUE software. I couldn't find it on their website but manually adjusting the version in the download URL worked: http://downloads.corsair.com/Files/CUE/iCUESetup_3.34.161_release.msi After installing this version, do a full shutdown of your PC (i.e. don't tell it to restart, do an actual shutdown) and after powering back on you should now be able to control the commander core in the iCUE software. Note that the software still prompted me to update the firmware and it still fails when attempting to do so, but with this version of iCUE you can simply ignore it and control the capellix anyways. automag91
Is there any log of what firmware update does, because its still failing for me?
coolenthusiast
This isn't helpful but I had this exact same issue. Reinstalled iCue, still nothing. I finally just had enough and left it alone, then for some unknown reason the next day it updated. I just clicked the little "arrow" in the corner and it worked. To me it just seems like it's pretty unreliable. I didn't change anything to get it to work, is what I mean.

I already tried installing it around 50 times or so from my side, but after reading this post I decided I'd try it one more time.... and it worked. I didn't change anything. HumblePrimate
So It took me about 6 hours to get my H150i working correctly as it wouldn't update firmware out of the box. I was good for about 2 weeks and now it failed another update. If anyone has any sort of permanent fix I'd be interested in hearing it.

vantage78
Had to stop the RGB fusion service, and the update worked fine!
TheChosenOne79
I also had an issue with the firmware updating. I had Aorus RGB Fusion running and it wouldn't update. Closed out Aorus Fusion completely and the Capellix update went through.

Closed out Aorus Fusion completely and the Capellix update went through. Confirmed. Closing Aorus RGB Fusion let my update go through as well. kapitan5
You can't upgrade firmware because you have another another software in conflict with ICUE. To upgrade your firmware for Capellix, reboot your computer in SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING. For Windows 10, click Windows Start button---Click Power----While holding Shift key on keyboard click Restart ----- When Windows reboot you will see options: Chose Troubleshoot ---- Advanced options-----Startup settings-----Click restart----After reboot you will see another list with options. Press 5 on keyboard for Safe mode with Networking. When you see desktop with icons open ICUE program, click on Carellix icon--- Settings and update firmware. It worked for me. I upgraded Firmare. By the way after I failed first time to upgrade Capellix firmware. Liquid coolant showed 43 Celsius and processor temperature was 52 even without load. After firmware upgrade It shows 33 Celsius Coolant and 40 Celsius processor without load. So firmware upgrade is important. Hope it will help everybody in this forum.
